    Colony NorthStar, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible in supervising the accounting and reporting of the General Partner investment entities (the “Upper Tier”). This person will report to the Director and oversee Staff Accountants in the Upper Tier group.  This person will have exposure to GP level and Fund level investment accounting in opportunity funds, core funds, and hedge funds; there will also be some exposure to partnership taxation issues.  In addition, this position will also help with the administration of employee stock plan and related reporting and analyses.  The diversity of accounting and operating issues encountered in this position provides for a unique experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise all aspects of Upper Tier accounting and reporting
    • Administer the employee stock plan and related reporting and analysis
    • Prepare and review all capital activity for capital calls and distributions
    • Prepare and supervise the completion of all monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports
    • Work with tax department on Upper Tier tax issues
    • Correspond with investors
    • Train and develop staff
    • Innovate new procedures, processes, reconciliations, reports, and analyses
    • Assist Director and VP with other special analyses and financial modeling as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related major
    • Must have attained a senior accountant level or equivalent and prior staff management experience is required
    • CPA license is a plus
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel with prior modeling experience
    • Must feel comfortable dealing with confidential information
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Self-motivated and display initiative
